About me
Why aerate, dethatch, or overseed? Core aeration is the single most effective way to revitalize your lawn and breathe new life into it. Core aeration reduces soil compaction and thatch, but sometimes the thatch is too thick. In those cases, using a power rake (dethatching a.k.a "thatching") can be very effective in removing the thatch. If your lawn is thinning or has bare spots, overseeding your lawn can be a great way to have a full, thick, lawn. The illustration at the right explains the basic need for aeration.
A statement about MOSS!!! (my kryptonite)! My core business model is "lawn maintenance" not "lawn renovation". If you have neglected your lawn and have an over abundance of moss, then it is probably better to start from scratch and install an entirely new lawn. Every PNW lawn has some moss, so kill it with a moss killer or a mixture of white vinegar and water. It may take multiple applications to finally conquer it, but you will be happy with the results. My equipment is not designed to remove moss, however it is much easier to dethatch dead moss out of a lawn that has been treated with moss killer.
A statement about overseeding! It is imperative that you manage your lawn after an overseeding service. I cannot guarantee that your lawn will grow unless you are diligent in managing your lawn in the next three-to-four weeks after the service. If your lawn is not growing after you have done your due diligence, then I would expect some feedback from my customers. This is a new service and I am using a PNW blend specifically designed for overseeding. If it's not working then I need to know.

Note: I will consider expanding my service area as the business grows. My goal is to stay out of the congestion of Seattle traffic and off the freeways to provide a high level of service to my local communities.
Pricing
Price is based on the size of your lawn with a minimum charge for each service. The homeowner is responsible for marking sprinkler heads (I can provide marker flags), water meters, buried power lines, invisible dog fences, and other obstacles prior to the service appointment. I will measure the the square footage of your lawn and give you a firm price before I perform the work.
Aeration
$60 Minimum + Tax (Up to 1000 sq ft)
Lawns up to 1000 sq. ft.= $60 Lawns over 1000 sq. ft. = $60 + $.02 per sq. ft.
$60Dethatching
$80 per 1000 sq ft + Tax
Lawns up to 1000 sq. ft.= $80 Lawns over 1000 sq. ft. = $80 + $.06 per sq. ft. Includes: Dethatching/Remnant Rake-up/Removal from property. Before service mow your lawn short to provide better access for the rakes/tines to pull out the decomposing thatch. Note: There may be an extra charge for an over-abundance of MOSS that would require additional de-thatching to remove the excess. This can be negotiated at the time of the service.
$80Overseeding
$120 Per 1000 sq ft + Tax
Lawns up to 1000 sq. ft.= $120 Lawns over 1000 sq. ft. = $120 + $.10 per sq. ft. Note: Price includes a "Northwest Blend" lawn seed formulated for the PNW. I will run the machine pattern in two opposing directions for full coverage. I can also quote certain areas of your lawn that are thinning instead of your entire lawn. Prior to service you should mow your lawn short. The new grass seed needs to contact the soil and the new grass seedlings need lots of light to grow. Aerating and dethatching (if necessary) also helps to increase the success of an overseeding service by providing greater soil to seed contact. After your service use a "Starter Fertilizer" to help with root stimulation/growth and provide the nutrients needed for new seedlings to thrive. Disclaimer - I cannot guarantee that your overseeding service will be successful….period! There are numerous factors involved in the process of planting and growing grass. I will take every precaution to ensure that I perform the work properly. The new seed will be furrowed into the soil 1/8-1/2 inch deep using a slit/slice seeding machine. Your new grass may be a different color/blade shape and may not match your existing lawn.
